P2P day 21

Very difficult day on the bike today because of a lot of headwind and wind from the side.  113 miles and 5,700’ of climbing.  The ride took us through the Badlands National Park.  Spent the morning riding through fields of corn and sunflowers but entering Badlands the landscape changes to something that feels like riding on the moon.
Entering the park

Just inside the park entrance.  This created an ear worm....Ted Nugent’s “Great White Buffalo”. I think the low quality photos can be credited to sunscreen on the camera lens.

About 35 miles of this scenery made the wind more tolerable.

One of my fellow riders, Lori, climbing a hill in the park

3 more days in South Dakota then it’s into Minnesota.

Out.

  1. Sorry for being absent the past five days, but Debi and I were way up the north side of Lake Chelan where there's zero cell or wi-fi. Funny comment about the Badlands being like the moon. Guess we could call it America's version of Ventoux? ;-)
