I sure am glad Heather got you set up with this blog . . . I am loving reading about your adventures - and I loved the facts about Montana, I always did wonder how many people there were in the state per square mile. I think the state facts should be a regular in the blog. I want to thank you also for getting a kayak and allowing me to use it . . . I have now officially been in it more than you - just doing my duty and keeping your wife company while you are away . . . It ain't nothin!
I'm seeing two things here - the fact that you had two HOURS of off-bike time (what were you doing, taking a nap?) and the fact that your Garmin said you burned 6k calories. :-)
As a group we tend to take a lot of breaks, some of them quite long. The Trek team always sets up a nice lunch for us or we eat in a restaurant. I’m actually stopping the bike to take these pictures, Heather should be proud. You know the Garmin is woefully inaccurate on calorie burn.
